EMPORIA, Kan. – Iris Sandoval-Flores of Emporia has entered a plea in Lyon County District Court in connection with two criminal cases involving identity theft, fraud, and unlicensed dental practice.
Sandoval-Flores pleaded no contest to one count of dealing in false identification documentation and one count of theft. In exchange for her plea, prosecutors agreed to drop charges of human smuggling, identity theft, and practicing dentistry without a license.
The court has ordered a pre-sentence investigation, and Sandoval-Flores is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:15 p.m. on November 14.
She was one of eight individuals arrested and charged in April as part of the same investigation. The other defendants are:
Francisco German Pichardo-Machardo: Making false information, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia
Martin Pichardo-Machado: Making false information, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia, identity fraud
Hugo Antonio Cardona-Argueta: Marijuana and paraphernalia possession, interference with law enforcement, making false information, identity theft
Martha Kenia Lopez-Alvarado: Same charges as Cardona-Argueta
Ana Raquel Figueroa: Practicing dentistry without a license, unlawful obtaining of prescription-only drugs
Rigoberto J. Sandoval Sandoval: Same charges as Figueroa
Edwar Joharly Benavides-Salgado: Identity theft
All co-defendants are continuing through the legal process.
