The accused, Tashi Bapu (49), a resident of Miji Colony, Bomdila in West Kameng district, was apprehended on October 3 in an operation led by Sub-Inspector H B Tator, Officer-in-Charge at Bomdila Police Station.
During the raid, police recovered:
66.28 grams of heroin

Rs13,500 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales
According to SI Tator, Tashi Bapu was under surveillance based on credible intelligence reports linking him to narcotics distribution.
“The accused is a habitual offender and has been involved in multiple cases under the NDPS Act. His arrest is part of our sustained effort to eliminate the drug menace from the region,” said SI Tator.
Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Bomdila Police Station. Investigations are ongoing to trace the wider drug supply and distribution network connected to the accused.
