Iowa Man Christopher Darnell Arrested in Gibson County for Drug Possession

Deputy finds meth, marijuana, and paraphernalia during vehicle stop near Oakland City Old Lake

Gibson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 51-year-old Christopher Darnell of Hancock, Iowa, on Friday during an investigation of a pick-up truck parked near Oakland City Old Lake.

While speaking with the driver, deputies noticed a firearm on the seat and detected the smell of burnt marijuana inside the vehicle. Further investigation led to the seizure of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Darnell was taken to the Gibson County Detention Center and charged with Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the case.
