Inusah Ahmed Arrested by INTERPOL Over Internet Fraud Allegations

PAC Academy FC owner held in US extradition case on cybercrime charges

by Sophia Bennett

Inusah Ahmed, owner of Division One League club PAC Academy FC, was arrested by INTERPOL in a joint operation with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over allegations of internet fraud.

Ahmed was detained along with three others—Isaac Oduro Boateng, Derrick Van Yeboah, and Patrick Kwame Asare—in a coordinated crackdown. All four suspects are currently in custody as extradition proceedings are initiated to face trial in the United States.

Investigators revealed that the arrests followed months of intelligence sharing and cooperation between Ghanaian security agencies and their international counterparts. The suspects are believed to be members of a larger cybercrime syndicate responsible for defrauding victims in several countries through sophisticated online scams.

The arrests have shocked Ghana’s football community, particularly in the Ashanti Region, where PAC Academy FC is recognized for nurturing young football talent and competing in the Access Bank Division One League.

Authorities have not yet released the full list of charges but expect them to include serious federal offenses such as wire fraud, identity theft, and money laundering.
