Three members of an interstate gang, allegedly involved in a series of thefts across multiple cities and states, were arrested by the MIG police, authorities revealed on Wednesday. The trio had been on the police radar for their involvement in a theft case within the MIG area. After committing thefts, the accused would often flee to different cities by flight to evade capture.

According to DCP (Zone-2) Abhinay Vishwakarma, a special team was formed to track the suspects. The team meticulously reviewed over 450 CCTV footage from the area and discovered that the thieves had fled the city, taking a flight to Delhi. Upon this discovery, a second team was dispatched to Delhi. However, the suspects had already flown to Gujarat by the time the team arrived. Following this, a third team was briefed, and with thorough investigation, the accused were tracked down and arrested from LIG Link Road in the city, where they were allegedly waiting to sell the stolen items.

The accused were identified as Samit Takrana from Barwani district, Kadda alias Balbeer Singh from Akash Nagar, and Kalu alias Yamraj Mourya, also from Akash Nagar. Their accomplice, Gurdeep Singh, remains at large. During their arrest, the suspects confessed to committing thefts in various states, including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and more.

The gang is said to have stolen gold worth Rs 40 lakh and cash from a cloth merchant’s home in the Srinagar Extension area just a few days ago. However, the police have recovered only 20% of the stolen goods thus far.
