Punjab Police have arrested 43-year-old Shehnaz Singh, alias Shawn Bhinder, an international drug dealer wanted by the FBI. The arrest was made by Tarn Taran police, as confirmed by Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav. Shawn Bhinder is considered a key player in a global narcotics syndicate.
According to the police, Shawn graduated from a college in Batala, Punjab, and moved to Canada in 2014, where he started a trucking business. However, he used his legitimate business as a front for smuggling consignments. His primary role involved overseeing the movement of drugs from Colombia to the US and Canada, via Mexico.
After a crackdown by the FBI, Shawn managed to sneak into India in the first week of March, eventually settling in Ludhiana, where he was arrested. The Punjab Police have confirmed that Shawn will now face legal proceedings related to his role in the international drug trafficking network.
