In a significant breakthrough, Indore Police arrested Arun Sakhla (34), a resident of Gosala Telikheda, Mhow, for his involvement in a series of motorcycle thefts. The police recovered five stolen motorcycles and the engine of another, with a total estimated value of Rs 3 lakh.
According to DSP Umakant Choudhary, the police acted on a tip-off and arrested Sakhla, who confessed to stealing seven motorcycles from various locations. These included three bikes from Kishanganj, one each from Sendhwa (in Barwani district), Sanawad (in Khargone district), and Nandanagar and Rajrani Nagar areas of Indore.
After questioning, the police recovered the stolen motorcycles, which had been sold or hidden in different parts of the city. Police also found the parts of one stolen motorcycle, further adding to the total value of the recovered property.
Kishanganj Police Station in-charge Kuldeep Khatri confirmed that Sakhla had been charged under relevant sections of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita), and investigations into the thefts are ongoing. Authorities are working to track down additional stolen vehicles and uncover the full extent of the crime.
