The crime branch of Indore police arrested Vinod Jadhav, a 24-year-old history-sheeter, for possession of brown sugar valued at around Rs 1 lakh in the international market.
Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya revealed that the arrest took place during surveillance aimed at curbing drug trafficking in the city. Jadhav was intercepted near Dhan Mandi on Chhota Bangadda Road after police noticed his nervous behavior.
Vinod Jadhav, a resident of Deodharam, Gandhi Nagar, admitted to being addicted to drugs and confessed to purchasing narcotics at low prices and selling them at higher rates to addicts in Indore. Police recovered 11.75 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
Further investigation revealed Jadhav’s criminal background, with over a dozen previous cases against him. A case has been registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act at the crime branch, with further legal proceedings underway.
