MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – An Indiana couple is facing over 120 charges, including child abuse, human trafficking, strangulation, and domestic battery, after years of alleged mistreatment of children in their care.
60-year-old Brian Stafford and his wife, 60-year-old Sonja Stafford, are accused of abusing multiple children they fostered and adopted over the past 13 years. Authorities say that at least 33 children passed through their home during this time, with victims continuing to come forward, some recounting abuse dating back to the 1990s.
The couple is currently incarcerated in Morgan County, facing serious charges related to their alleged criminal activities. Investigations are ongoing, and more victims are expected to be heard.
The Staffords’ Case is part of a broader effort to hold accountable those who abuse vulnerable children placed in their care.
