In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Indore crime branch arrested two habitual drug traffickers, Imran Ajmeri (27) and Arif Ujjaini (35), while they attempted to supply MDMA drugs in the city. The arrests were made near Rajkumar Sabzi Mandi on MR-4 Road, based on a tip-off.
Police intercepted the suspects’ car and seized 57 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), two mobile phones, and the vehicle used in the operation. The estimated international market value of the seized drugs is around Rs60 lakh.
Both accused are residents of Khajrana, Indore — Imran from Gandhi Gram and Arif from Hina Colony. They have multiple criminal cases registered against them, including violations under the NDPS Act, as well as charges related to brawls, theft, and excise laws. During interrogation, both admitted to working as van drivers and being involved in 8–10 previous offences.
According to investigators, the duo procured MDMA from other cities at lower rates with plans to distribute the drugs within Indore. They were booked under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act at the Crime Branch police station. Authorities are now tracking the drug supply network to identify additional suspects and sources.
