MT. VERNON, Ill. (WFIE) — Kelli Hale, 36, of Gallatin County, Illinois, was arrested early Monday morning in Mt. Vernon after police discovered methamphetamine and fentanyl during a traffic stop.

According to Mt. Vernon Police, officers pulled over Hale for a traffic violation. During the stop, Hale reportedly kept reaching around inside the vehicle, prompting officers to instruct her to exit the car.

When she got out, officers say they found a smoking pipe on her. A search of the car revealed a scale, pills, and three bags of powder, which later tested positive for meth and fentanyl.

Hale is now facing multiple drug-related charges as a result of the discovery.
