The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command has successfully apprehended Ifeanyi Okonkwo, who was caught on CCTV stealing a phone at a restaurant in Ikeja, Lagos.
According to a statement released by the RRS on Monday, Okonkwo visited the eatery on November 7, 2024, to buy food, but instead, he stole a Samsung A15 mobile phone that belonged to another customer. The theft was captured on the restaurant’s CCTV, showing Okonkwo discreetly taking the phone from the counter.
On December 5, Okonkwo returned to the same restaurant, unaware that he was under surveillance. He was quickly identified and arrested by RRS operatives who were watching the location.
The police also reported that the stolen phone was successfully recovered from the buyer, and Okonkwo has been charged in court for his actions.
