WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 4,500 illegal aliens in Georgia from January 20 to July 31, marking a 367% increase from the 963 arrests during the same period in 2021.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin credited the surge to enforcement policies under the Trump administration, aimed at removing violent criminals including murderers, pedophiles, gang members, and drug traffickers. “Thanks to leadership restoring ICE’s authority, we are putting Americans first and removing the worst of the worst,” she said.

Among those arrested in Georgia are:

Osvaldo Rodriguez-Padilla (Mexico): Convicted of importing 20.9 kg of cocaine.

Flavio Delabra Rebollar (Mexico): Convicted of methamphetamine distribution, drug trafficking, weapons offenses, and illegal entry.

Jacob Aguillon-Martinez (Mexico): Arrested for homicide by negligent manslaughter and hit and run.

Juan Carlos Mendoza-Gonzalez (Mexico): Convicted of statutory rape and aggravated child molestation.

Eduardo Garcia-Gonzalez (Mexico): Arrested for multiple counts of child molestation and sexual battery against a child under 16.

Robert Edward Matos-Madueno (Venezuela): Arrested for child molestation, sexual battery, and false imprisonment.

Luis Alfredo Betancourth-Euceda (Honduras): Convicted of sexual battery against a child under 16.

Armando Garcia Ramos (Guatemala): Criminal history includes attempted felony murder, firearm offenses, and driving without a license.

Matilde Romero Sanchez (Mexico): Arrested for incest and child molestation.

Fernando Hernandez-Martinez (Mexico): Convicted of two counts of child molestation.

These arrests demonstrate a renewed focus on public safety and the removal of dangerous criminals from the country.
