ICE Arrests 214 Child Sex Offenders in Houston Area in 6 Months
HOUSTON, TX – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced that 214 illegal immigrants with charges or convictions involving sex offenses against minors were arrested in the Houston area in the first six months of 2025. This surpasses the entire total for fiscal year 2024, which stood at 211.
ICE credits the increase to a “whole-of-government” approach, which includes multiagency targeting teams focused on identifying and removing dangerous criminal aliens.
“These arrests reflect a unified federal law enforcement response to the surge of illegal immigration and the presence of violent offenders in our communities,” said Paul McBride, Acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Houston.
Among the 214 arrested, five individuals with previous deportations were highlighted:
Jorge Zebra, 48, convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a minor, deported to Mexico on March 24.
Jesus Gutierrez Mireles, 67, convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child and DWI, deported to Mexico on April 4 — his third removal.
Jose Guadalupe Meza, 40, convicted of sexual assault of a child and theft, deported to Mexico on June 25 — his fourth removal.
Sergio Rolando Galvan Guerrero, 45, convicted of DWI and aggravated sexual assault of a child, deported to Mexico on July 14 — third removal.
Manuel Antonio Castro-Juarez, 37, convicted of sexual assault of a minor and illegal reentry, remains in ICE custody pending his third removal to El Salvador.
ICE emphasized the threat posed by these individuals and stressed the need for continued vigorous enforcement efforts to protect communities.
