Cardiff, UK – A Cardiff drug dealer has been sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison after being caught in the act by patrolling officers in Grangetown.
Ibrahim Mustafa, 32, was arrested on October 5 last year after officers in an unmarked police car witnessed a suspected drug deal involving a black Seat Altea on Paget Street.
As police approached the vehicle, Mustafa was seen reaching for something and concealing it in his trousers. Officers recovered latex gloves, cash, and mobile phones, which included text messages related to drug sales.
Following his arrest, Mustafa was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where an X-ray confirmed the presence of a foreign object in his body, suspected to be drugs.
Mustafa, from Butetown, later pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine. He was sentenced on March 20 at Cardiff Crown Court.
South Wales Police stated their commitment to tackling drug-related crime:
“We will not tolerate drugs in our communities. This arrest is just one example of the proactive work we are doing.”
The force also emphasized the importance of public assistance, encouraging residents to report suspicious activity:
“We regularly act on information from the public, so please continue working with us.”
This case underlines the force’s zero-tolerance approach to drug dealing and its ongoing efforts to remove drugs and offenders from Cardiff’s streets.
