The Hyderabad Commissioner Task Force Team of South East Zone, along with the Chaderghat police, successfully apprehended a Rapido driver involved in the theft of an auto-rickshaw. The stolen vehicle was recovered from his possession.
The accused, Mohammed Haneef Quershi (23), a resident of Saidabad, was arrested after being caught with the stolen vehicle. The theft took place on March 10, when Haneef stole an auto-rickshaw from Akberbagh, New Malakpet. His initial intent was to use the vehicle for personal financial gain.
When questioned by the police, Haneef failed to provide valid documents for the vehicle and gave inconsistent statements. As a result, he was detained for further investigation. During interrogation, Haneef confessed to the auto theft.
The accused has been arrested, and the stolen auto-rickshaw has been seized by the authorities. Further legal proceedings are currently underway, and the police are continuing their investigation into the case.
