In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, Kalahasti Harish Krishna, a software professional, was arrested for attacking his colleague’s wife with a knife and stealing her gold bangles. The crime took place at an apartment in Ayyappa Society on January 25, 2025. Krishna, struggling with financial troubles, committed the crime in a desperate attempt to ease his debts.
The Madhapur police, after reviewing CCTV footage and gathering technical evidence, were able to identify Krishna as the suspect. Investigators discovered that the stolen gold bangles had been quickly pawned, leading them directly to Krishna.
Krishna, who had been a family friend and frequently visited the victim’s home, used his inside knowledge to plan the robbery. On the morning of January 25, he rang the doorbell of the apartment while wearing a helmet. As soon as the wife opened the door, Krishna attacked her with a knife and grabbed her gold bangles before fleeing on his motorcycle.
The police investigation picked up steam when Krishna’s mobile phone was examined, revealing a receipt for the sale of the stolen bangles at a jewellery store in Gajularamaram. Upon his arrest, the authorities recovered the stolen gold bangles, the knife, and his motorcycle.
Krishna, originally from Khajipet in the YSR district, had been living in Gajularamaram while working in Gachibowli. His financial struggles, stemming from a lavish lifestyle and a gambling habit, led him to commit this violent crime.
