In a significant crackdown, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, Secunderabad Zone, along with Chilkalguda Police, arrested seven individuals for illegal possession of ganja in Chilkalguda. Authorities seized 11.530 kg of the drug, valued at roughly Rs 4.38 lakh.
Among those arrested were drug peddlers Subhash Mishal, Pabitra Bira, and Bapun Bidika from Odisha, alongside users Chimala Jethin, Aditya Kamble, Das Vamshi Krishna, and Sankili Mahesh. A suspect named Malli remains at large in Odisha.
Police stated that the accused were involved in transporting, possessing, and selling ganja in Hyderabad to earn quick money. The peddlers brought the contraband into the city and attempted to sell it near Secunderabad Railway Station.
Acting on specific intelligence, officers apprehended the three peddlers and four consumers opposite the Railway Quarters in Chilkalguda while in possession of the drug. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the source and identify additional buyers.
