In a significant operation, the Hyderabad Police, in collaboration with the HNEW team and Nallakunta police, busted an interstate drug peddling racket on Tuesday, arresting four individuals involved in the illicit trade. The police seized 1380 grams of hydroponic marijuana, LSD blots, two bikes, and other materials worth approximately Rs1.4 crore.

The arrested individuals are:

Harshvardan Shrivastava alias Harsh (30) from Madhya Pradesh

Srinivasa Rahul (30) from Chennai

Abhishek (26), a software employee from Secunderabad

Dhawal, an architect from Secunderabad

Harshvardan Shrivastava sourced high-quality cannabis from the darknet marketplace “Dread Market” using encrypted platforms like Signal App. He acted as a middleman, purchasing the drug at Rs15,000 per ounce and selling it for Rs25,000 via courier services. Payments were made through cryptocurrency and Hawala, fueling his lavish lifestyle.

Srinivasa Rahul, who initially consumed marijuana, later became a transporter, sourcing the drugs through Snapchat and supplying them to peddlers in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

Abhishek, a graduate from IIIT Raipur, procured the drugs from Harshvardan via Signal App and transferred money through Hawala. He distributed the drugs to Dhawal and other clients in Secunderabad, selling them at inflated prices for quick profits.
