by Ananya Mehta

In a major crackdown on fraudulent academic activities, Hyderabad Police arrested two individuals involved in a counterfeit education certificate operation on Wednesday. The arrests, made by Dabeerpura Police in collaboration with the South East Zone Task Force, took place at Diamond Hotel and targeted a scam that facilitated the sale of fake academic documents to job seekers and students.

The arrested suspects are:

Abdul Qadeer, a private educator from Shalibanda
Mohd Shakeel, an unemployed resident of Dabeerpura
The two men are awaiting trial, while Sanjay Sharma, also known as Sahil Sharma from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, remains a fugitive. Law enforcement officials state that credible intelligence led to the arrests, with Sub-Inspector G. Naganna and his team intercepting the suspects on their way to Yakutpura.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspects were distributing fraudulent certificates to clients who lacked legitimate qualifications, charging hefty fees for promises of employment opportunities, both locally and internationally. Authorities confiscated 91 forged certificates, mobile devices, cash, and a motorcycle connected to the operation.

Efforts to apprehend the missing suspect and dismantle the racket are ongoing. Authorities warn the public to verify educational credentials through official channels to avoid falling victim to such scams.
