The Hyderabad East Zone police have arrested a notorious six-member shutter lifting gang responsible for stealing Rs 9 lakh from a mobile shop in Gujarati Galli, Koti. The accused have been identified as Jaisa Ram (32), Lilaram (31), Laxmanaram Shravan (34), Jabara Ram (34), Parasaram (30) – all natives of Rajasthan – and Nagaji Ram (30) from Gujarat.

According to police, Jaisa Ram received information from Parasaram that committing theft in a mobile shop on a Sunday could yield a large amount of cash. Acting on this tip, the gang planned the heist at Laxmi Mobile Shop.

On August 4, police received a complaint from Masara Ram Devasi, owner of Laxmi Mobile, reporting the theft of Rs 9 lakh from the cash drawer. The offenders gained entry by breaking the shop’s shutter and grill locks. A case under Sections 331 (4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered.

Following instructions from the DCP East Zone, a special police team reviewed CCTV footage and used technology to track and arrest the six suspects on August 10. Interrogations led to the recovery of Rs 8 lakh of the stolen money and the seizure of six mobile phones from the gang.

Police continue to investigate the case.
