Hyderabad Police have arrested six individuals in connection with a series of automobile thefts, which included three juveniles who were involved in purchasing the stolen vehicles. The police also recovered several stolen vehicles, including three Honda Dio scooters, an Activa, and an auto rickshaw, along with two vehicles used in committing the crimes.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammed Naveed, Mohd Sohail, Shaik Mohit Ali, Mohd Meraj, Shaik Samad, and Shaik Naseer. According to Y.V.S. Sudheendra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), these individuals are habitual offenders, who had been stealing vehicles in a systematic manner and selling them at throwaway prices to people they knew.
The police investigation revealed that the gang had been operating for some time, targeting vehicles across the city. The suspects would steal the vehicles, then sell them quickly to buyers in their circle, avoiding detection by offering the stolen goods at lower prices.
The police have also seized the two vehicles used by the accused for committing the thefts and have initiated further investigations to uncover the full extent of their criminal activities.
