Hurshel Hammer Charged in Glasgow Credit Card Fraud Case

19-year-old faces multiple charges including fraud, evading police

GLASGOW, Ky. – A 19-year-old man from Glasgow, Hurshel Landon Hammer, is facing several charges related to credit card fraud and other offenses.

Police responded just before noon on June 13 after a man came to the Glasgow Police Department to report theft. The victim stated that his debit and Social Security cards were stolen and subsequently used in fraudulent bank transactions.

One transaction totaled over $900 at Rural King. Security footage from the store showed a man leaving with a chainsaw and clothing purchased using the victim’s card.

Further investigation at AutoZone in Glasgow revealed another fraudulent charge made under the name Landon Hammer. Police identified the suspect as Hurshel Landon Hammer, who was already detained at the Barren County Detention Center for a previous incident.

Hammer now faces charges including fraudulent use of a credit card between $1,000 and $10,000, first-degree fleeing or evading police by motor vehicle and on foot, disregarding a stop sign, operating a vehicle under the influence (first offense), second-degree wanton endangerment toward a police officer, second-degree wanton endangerment, and operating a vehicle without a moped license.
