Hunter Steele Arrested in Armed Robbery at Laurel County Gas Station

London man charged after May robbery at Shell station

LONDON, Ky. — A 23-year-old London man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Shell Gas Station on KY 770 in Southern Laurel County that occurred in May.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reports that Hunter C. Steele, a resident of Hawks Creek Road, was taken into custody Friday night around 6:16 p.m. on Flatwoods Frozen Camp Road. Steele was discovered hiding in a shed after officers received a tip about his location.

During his arrest, Steele was found carrying a stolen Glock pistol, authorities said.

He faces charges of first-degree robbery and receiving stolen property involving a firearm. Steele was booked into the Laurel County Detention Center.

Law enforcement officials added that they are still searching for a second suspect connected to the case.
