Hubballi Stabbing Incident Claims Life of 18-Year-Old Sameer Sheikh

Police Arrest Six More in Connection to Tragic Stabbing Incident

A tragic stabbing incident near Ghodekeri Plot in Old Hubballi claimed the life of 18-year-old Sameer Sheikh on Wednesday. Sameer, one of the two victims in the attack that occurred on December 30, succumbed to his injuries at KIMS Hospital. His uncle, Javed Sheikh, was also injured in the incident but is receiving treatment at the hospital.

The assailant, identified as Mujamil Magami, attacked the duo with a knife. Sameer, despite receiving medical care, could not survive the brutal assault. Following the incident, a case was registered at the Old Hubballi Police Station.

In connection with the case, the police had already arrested Mujamil Magami, who was shot in the leg during his apprehension. Now, six additional individuals have been arrested. These individuals are: Mohammed Hanif Magami (29) from Pathan Galli, Khalidmiya Mulla (27) from Anand Nagar, Mohammed Insal (29), Mohammed Shahrukh (23), Rabbani Halemani (32), and Ahmed Hajaresab (55) from Islampur.

Commenting on the investigation, Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar stated that the incident stemmed from an old rivalry between families. What started as a dispute among children had escalated into this violent attack. The police commissioner further revealed that a similar conflict had occurred three years ago.

An FIR has been filed against 15 individuals, and the investigation is ongoing. The police assured that everyone found guilty will be thoroughly scrutinized and held accountable for their actions.
