BANGKOK — Thai police have arrested Huang Qingqing, a 53-year-old Chinese national, accused of carrying out high-value burglaries at luxury homes in Bangkok.
Authorities said Huang was wanted in connection with the April 22 burglary at a judge’s residence in the Preecha Rom Klao housing estate in Min Buri District, carried out alongside another Chinese suspect.
Investigators revealed that both men entered Thailand through Don Mueang Airport on April 20, checked into a nearby hotel, and rented a motorcycle to scout potential targets. On the night of the break-in, surveillance footage captured them riding to the judge’s home before fleeing along Rom Klao and Ramkhamhaeng roads, escaping through a wooded area.
The pair allegedly struck again, burglarizing another home belonging to a Chinese national and stealing valuables worth more than 10 million baht (approximately $270,000) before fleeing the country via Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Authorities later recorded Huang’s details in their database. He was arrested upon returning to Thailand on October 29 at Don Mueang Airport.
Huang is currently in police custody pending legal proceedings, while officers continue to search for his accomplice.
