Hrishikesh Singh, Pankaj Arrested in Hunsur Gold Heist

Rs 10 crore jewellery recovered; investigation ongoing

In a major breakthrough in the Rs 10 crore jewellery theft case from Hunsur, Mysuru, two accused, Hrishikesh Singh and Pankaj alias Satuva, have been arrested in Bihar. The daring daylight robbery occurred on December 28 at Sky Gold and Diamonds, shocking the state.

The Bihar Special Task Force (STF), in coordination with Karnataka Police, tracked and apprehended the duo based on precise intelligence. During the operation, police recovered a gold chain, a ring, Rs 1 lakh in cash, and a motorcycle stolen from the showroom.

Investigators noted that Pankaj Kumar has a long criminal history, including murder and theft across Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan. Hrishikesh Singh is also a repeat offender, with four prior cases registered in Bihar.

On the day of the robbery, five armed men arrived on two motorcycles, threatened staff and customers, and stole gold jewellery worth Rs 10 crore in just four minutes. Items stolen included 150 necklaces, 70 rings, 64 bangles, 65 chains, 19 karimani necklaces, 13 diamond rings, 17 earrings, 12 lockets, 12 anklets, and 8 bracelets.

Police are continuing investigations to trace the remaining accused and recover the stolen valuables.
