Houston Med Spa Owner Arrested for Using Fake Fillers and Practicing Without a License
HOUSTON, Texas — Aseel Al-Tameemi, the owner of Lilac Touch Med Spa, has been arrested after police discovered fake Juvederm fillers at her Westchase location. The arrest stems from allegations that Al-Tameemi violated the Texas Medical Practice Act by practicing without a medical license and purchasing counterfeit medication.
The spa’s doors were locked on Thursday, the day after Al-Tameemi’s arrest, leaving many questions about her business operations. Court documents suggest Al-Tameemi purchased counterfeit Botox and Juvederm products, which were allegedly being used at her med spa. Law enforcement confirmed the counterfeit Juvederm fillers were among the fake products.
Al-Tameemi was not present at her Cypress home Thursday, and her son, who resides with her, seemed unaware of the details surrounding the business. “I’m not really sure, to be honest with you,” he said when asked about his mother’s business.
Lilac Touch Med Spa’s social media posts advertised services like liquid rhinoplasty and Botox injections at $7 per unit—a price far lower than the standard cost of Botox, which typically ranges from $14 to $15 per unit, according to Dr. Franklin Rose, a board-certified plastic surgeon.
“That’s crazy,” Dr. Rose remarked after reviewing the posts, advising potential clients to be cautious when services seem unusually cheap.
Rose emphasized the importance of doing thorough research before undergoing any medical procedures and suggested patients ask questions about the medical staff and the products being injected. “Just ask: Who’s injecting me? Can I see what is being injected into me?” Rose advised.
Al-Tameemi was released on a $100 bond following her arrest. Police are now urging anyone who has visited her spa to contact authorities to ensure their safety and verify the procedures performed.
