Cyber Crime Police in Gurugram have arrested four men for allegedly providing fake bank accounts to cyber fraudsters involved in a deceptive trading investment scam, police confirmed on Wednesday.
The arrests follow a case registered on March 15, after a complaint was filed by a victim who claimed he was duped by scammers posing as investment brokers. The complaint led to an FIR at the Cyber Crime (South) Police Station.
The arrested individuals are:
Honey Garg
Sahdev
Sandeep — all residents of Tatarpur village in Palwal district
Rahul Tiwari — a resident of Bawa Colony, Ludhiana
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to opening a bank account using another person’s identity and then handing it over to cyber criminals, who used it to collect defrauded money from victims of the scam.
In exchange, the accused received Rs 18,000 as payment for facilitating the fraud, according to a Gurugram Police spokesperson.
Authorities are now investigating the broader network behind the trading scam and tracking the money trail.
