LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Hobert Buttery, 49, was arrested for allegedly stealing a weed eater and heater from a home on Taylor Drive in London. The property belongs to Laurel County Judge Executive David Westerfield, who reported the theft to the authorities.

According to the arrest citation, Buttery, a former employee of Westerfield, had recently asked for a job but was turned down. Surveillance footage showed a vehicle near the home during the burglary on December 23. The vehicle and Buttery were later located in Manchester, where he reportedly admitted to the theft. He also told authorities that he left the weed eater at a home in Lily.

Buttery’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.
