Two men were arrested in Rajasthan in connection with a recent hit-and-run incident in Ahmedabad that left six people injured. The accused, identified as Himmatsinh alias Karansinh Bhursinh Rajput and Tarun Ishwar Shukla, were arrested from Udaipur and brought back to Ahmedabad on Wednesday, police confirmed.
According to sources, Himmatsinh Rajput was driving the car that rammed into the victims, while Shukla is believed to have assisted him in fleeing and later threatened the victims’ families to withdraw the police complaint.
The hit-and-run occurred earlier this month, creating a stir in the locality as multiple pedestrians sustained serious injuries. The Ahmedabad Police launched a manhunt soon after the incident and successfully tracked the duo to Rajasthan.
Authorities are investigating whether the accused have been involved in other similar offenses. Charges under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Motor Vehicles Act have been filed.
