HIALEAH, Fla. — Two employees of a Hialeah auto tag agency have been arrested in connection with a vehicle tag fraud scheme, authorities said.

Marvin Codio and Belkis Escobar Navarro were taken into custody after allegedly forging a car purchaser’s signature on multiple Florida vehicle tags. Both worked at the Hialeah tag agency.

The pair face charges of official misconduct, providing false information, and vehicle forgery. Investigators said a total of nine people were involved in the scheme, with most suspects still at large as of Thursday evening.

Authorities continue to investigate and are seeking information on the other individuals connected to the alleged fraud.
