Hemlata Gurjar Arrested for Fake Taekwondo Certificate Job Scam

Woman faked sports credentials to get govt teaching job in Rajasthan

by Ananya Mehta

Hemlata Gurjar, a 31-year-old woman from Karauli district with no taekwondo experience, was arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) for securing a government teaching job under the sports quota using a forged certificate.

According to ADG (SOG) VK Singh, Hemlata’s husband, Pradhuman Singh Gurjar, colluded with Rajasthan Taekwondo Association secretary Dinesh Jagarwal to insert her name into the participant list of the Third Bhagwan Mahavir Open National Taekwondo Championship 2017.

Despite never competing in taekwondo, Hemlata obtained a bogus certificate verified through an intermediary, Hitesh Bhadu, which helped her claim the government job. The racket unraveled when the SOG discovered a fake email ID for the Taekwondo Federation of India, Dhanbad, was created to send forged verification reports to the Bikaner education directorate.

The investigation led to multiple arrests, including those involved in fake email verifications — Bimlendu Kumar Jha, brokers Kamal Singh and Hitesh Bhadu, association secretary Jagarwal — as well as beneficiaries like Manoj Kumar Gurjar and Hemlata’s husband. A case has been registered under various IPC sections and relevant IT Act provisions.
