Easton, PA — Two Hellertown men are facing serious charges after allegedly stealing nearly $3,000 worth of merchandise from a local Home Depot store.

Richard Cody Fluck, 37, and Sami M. Mirza, 35, have been charged with third-degree felony retail theft, third-degree felony receiving stolen property, and third-degree felony conspiracy to commit retail theft. Arrest warrants were issued following the theft, which occurred on the afternoon of February 21 at the Home Depot located at 721 S. 25th Street, Easton.

According to the Palmer Township Police Department, Fluck and Mirza entered the store around 4 p.m., where they allegedly grabbed a black tote and proceeded to the copper fitting aisle. They selected a large quantity of copper fittings, placing them into the tote. Police say they also placed bags of salt on the bottom shelf of a shopping cart and added a wet-dry vac bucket to a second cart.

The men allegedly pushed the carts past the store’s registers without paying, with the stolen merchandise valued at $2,948.74. When a cashier requested that they provide a receipt, Fluck and Mirza reportedly ignored the request and exited the store.

After leaving the store, police say the suspects unloaded the stolen goods into a red Mitsubishi SUV with Pennsylvania license plates before driving off.

The Palmer Township Police Department worked with the Hellertown Police Department to identify the suspects, leading to the issuance of the warrants for Fluck and Mirza’s arrest.
