Hekter Carreto Arrested for Violent Rape and Robbery in El Paso
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 21-year-old man, Hekter Enrique Carreto, has been arrested in connection with a brutal assault at a Northeast El Paso smoke shop.
The El Paso Police Department reported that on March 28, Carreto entered the smoke shop located at 9155 Dyer Drive, where he allegedly violently raped, beat, and robbed a woman. Authorities say he then dragged the unconscious victim out of the business and fled the scene.
The victim was discovered behind the building and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
Carreto was taken into custody on March 30 and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center. He is facing multiple felony charges:
Two counts of aggravated sexual assault
Aggravated kidnapping
Aggravated robbery
Carreto is being held on a $5 million bond as the investigation continues.
