KNOXVILLE, Iowa — A Clive woman has been arrested in Knoxville and is facing multiple charges after allegedly forging documents to sell a vehicle she didn’t own and later using a stolen debit card.
According to court records, 52-year-old Heidi Kipnusu created a falsified bill of sale on March 30 to sell a vehicle that belonged to someone else. She reportedly forged the victim’s signature on the sale document and the receipt of payment, then applied for a duplicate title the following day—again using forged signatures.
When questioned, Kipnusu claimed she had permission from the victim’s ex-spouse and that the victim had signed their own name. However, the victim denied those statements and confirmed to police they never signed the documents or gave consent.
In a separate incident on April 9, the Knoxville Police Department investigated a report of unauthorized debit card use. The victim’s power of attorney reported that a $45.48 charge was made at New Star in Knoxville. Surveillance footage and a receipt obtained by police identified Kipnusu as the person who used the card. Kipnusu denied making the purchase and blamed another individual, but police evidence linked her to the transaction.
Kipnusu was arrested and now faces the following charges:
Felony forgery
Third-degree fraudulent practice
Fourth-degree theft
Unauthorized use of a credit card
She is currently awaiting court proceedings.
