MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — Heather Jewel Tiger, 52, has been arrested following a chaotic incident at a gas station in Mandan on Thursday, June 5.
According to an affidavit from the Mandan Police Department, officers were called around 5:09 p.m. about a woman in distress who was reportedly rolling on the pavement and “swinging her fists” at another person.
When officers arrived, Tiger had entered the passenger side of a vehicle brought by a family member. She was seen reaching beneath the driver’s seat, prompting officers to remove her for safety. Officers reported that she resisted being handcuffed, requiring them to use reasonable force.
Tiger allegedly stiffened her body and refused to speak when officers tried placing her in the patrol car. Officers noted signs of heavy intoxication, including slurred speech, red and watery eyes, dilated pupils, and the odor of alcohol. She was arrested under detox protocol.
Once inside the patrol vehicle, Tiger reportedly slipped out of her handcuffs. While being re-secured, she allegedly kicked an officer in the torso two to three times and continued screaming throughout the arrest.
She was taken to Sanford ER for medical clearance and then transported to the Burleigh Morton Detention Center.
Tiger is charged with:
Class C Felony: Simple Assault on a Peace Officer
Misdemeanors: Preventing Arrest, Disorderly Conduct
