A mother has been arrested in North Fort Myers after allegedly involving her 12-year-old son in multiple thefts at Walmart.
Heather Marie Davis was observed by a Walmart Asset Protection Officer on Walmart on Pine Island Road on Sunday, attempting to steal items worth $237.17. The goods were hidden in a black purse and a backpack as Davis and her son tried to leave without paying.
The officer confronted them outside and escorted them back inside, calling law enforcement. Davis was charged with retail theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified due to her son’s involvement.
Davis was booked into the Lee County Jail without incident. Her son was not charged and was returned home by a deputy.
