Hazaribag: In a major breakthrough, the Hazaribag police arrested six individuals allegedly involved in a series of jewellery thefts, officials announced Monday. Authorities recovered 388.53 grams of gold, 800 grams of silver, and Rs39,000 in cash during the operation.
The first theft occurred on November 5 at a residence within Barabazar police limits, resulting in a loss of jewellery worth Rs40 lakh. Two suspects, Puroshottam Kumar Yadav alias Fakku and Niraj Kumar Soni alias Pappu, were detained in connection with this case.
A second incident took place on October 28 in Lohsinghna, leading to the arrest of four additional suspects. These individuals reportedly have extensive criminal records.
All items recovered from the incidents include gold, silver, cash, and a scooter among other valuables. The arrested suspects have been remanded to Hazaribag Central Jail, and investigations are ongoing to determine their involvement in other local thefts.
