Hassan Police Arrest Ullas for Keerthi Murder Case

Autorickshaw driver posts viral video after killing youth

The Hassan police arrested Ullas (21) on December 10, the prime accused in the murder of Keerthi (21), which occurred at Bittagowdanahalli near Hassan on December 8.

Ullas, an autorickshaw driver from Dodda Kanagal in Alur taluk, along with two others, allegedly murdered Keerthi, a resident of Huvinahalli in Hassan taluk.

The crime came to light on December 9 after Ullas posted a video clip showing himself with the deceased, which went viral on social media. In the clip, Ullas claimed responsibility for the murder along with his accomplices.

Keerthi’s brother, Kiran, who received the video on his phone, identified the deceased and filed a complaint at Hassan Town Police Station. The police subsequently registered a case under the SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, in addition to sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the other accused involved in the case.
