In a significant operation, Haryana Police have successfully dismantled a cyber fraud ring operating through a fake trading app called Tiranga. The arrest of two individuals, Yash Kukreja and Kuldeep, has been hailed as a major breakthrough in the fight against cybercrime. The police team, led by Inspector Naveen Kumar of the Palwal Cyber Crime Police Station, managed to apprehend the duo for defrauding people using this fraudulent trading platform.

According to Palwal Superintendent of Police, Dr. Anshu Singla, the cyber fraud syndicate targeted young individuals, particularly in India, through a deceptive mobile app. The app, which promised high returns from color-based trading, lured victims by promoting the platform on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Yash Kukreja and Kuldeep used their large social media following to promote the app and manipulate individuals into investing large sums of money.

The Tiranga app, which appeared legitimate to its users, was designed to scam people by creating fake trading opportunities in which the victims lost substantial amounts of money. The operation of the fraud was found to be based abroad, with the perpetrators using various digital platforms to mask the app’s illegitimate nature and target vulnerable individuals.

The police action, which was initiated after Head Constable Devi Singh received intelligence on the fake app, highlights Haryana Police’s ongoing efforts to combat cybercrimes. Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur commended the Palwal police for their swift and effective action, underlining the importance of their work in addressing such growing threats to online security.

Both Yash Kukreja and Kuldeep were influential social media personalities, and their ability to manipulate large audiences played a significant role in the success of their fraudulent activities. The arrest of these individuals is seen as a crucial step in curbing similar scams and ensuring that more people are made aware of the risks posed by fraudulent apps in the digital space.

As investigations continue, the police are actively working to uncover any further operatives linked to the scam and to track down any potential victims who may still be at risk. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to online trading or similar apps.
