In a major development in the Kompally drug bust, Hyberabad Police and the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) have arrested Harsha, a former intern from BITS Pilani, for alleged involvement in a citywide drug trafficking network.

According to authorities, Harsha became addicted to narcotics during an internship in Goa. He later sourced drugs from Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa to supply clients in Hyderabad. Two other suspects are currently in custody, though details remain undisclosed.

Earlier this week, officers arrested A. Surya, 34, the owner of Malnadu Restaurant in Kompally. During a decoy operation, police intercepted his SUV and recovered OG weed, ecstasy, and cocaine concealed in the dashboard and the soles of women’s sandals.

Surya admitted regular drug use and named several high-profile professionals—pub owners, an IT crowd, a cardiologist from Gachibowli, and businessmen from Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Bengaluru—as fellow consumers.

Payments for the drugs were often routed through bank accounts linked to traffickers, including Nigerian operatives in Delhi and Bengaluru. Authorities have booked the accused under the NDPS Act and continue to expand the investigation.
