Harpreet Singh Sentenced to 5 Years for Scottsdale Art Heist
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Harpreet Singh, 33, was sentenced to five years in prison for stealing $250,000 worth of artwork, including pieces by Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, from a Scottsdale gallery.
The theft occurred in January 2024 at the American Fine Art Gallery near Scottsdale and Indian School roads. An alarm alerted employees, who found several pieces missing and heard someone upstairs. Police arrived to discover Singh hiding on the roof, with art pieces and burglary tools scattered nearby.
Singh pleaded guilty to felony theft and received an additional 3.5 years of supervised probation for cutting off his ankle monitor shortly after posting bond.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell commented, “The only art this thief will be looking at for the next few years will be whatever’s etched on the walls of his cell.”
