NEW ORLEANS — Harold Dailey, 35, an Alabama man wanted for capital murder, was arrested Monday in New Orleans, the Birmingham Police Department confirmed.
After fleeing Birmingham, Dailey was tracked to New Orleans, where officers and FBI agents from the New Orleans and North Alabama offices conducted surveillance. He was taken into custody without incident in the 1100 block of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard.
Dailey has been booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center and is being held on an outstanding capital murder warrant.
Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith emphasized the department’s commitment to justice, stating, “If you commit violence in our city, you can run, but you cannot hide. Through strong partnerships with law enforcement across the nation and the world, BPD will relentlessly pursue offenders and hold them accountable—wherever they go.”
