Uppinangady police on Sunday arrested Hariprasad, who had been absconding in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Sharath Kumar, a resident of Maderi in Nelyadi village.
The incident occurred on Friday night when Sharath was allegedly beaten to death with a wooden plank following a heated altercation. The conflict reportedly began over firewood collected by Sharath and his uncle’s family, which Hariprasad is said to have deliberately destroyed.
The confrontation quickly escalated, ending in a fatal assault. Sharath succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
A murder case has been registered by the police, and Hariprasad is now in custody as further investigation continues. Authorities are working to uncover more details surrounding the motive and any potential involvement of others.
