MOULTON, Ala. (WAFF) — A routine traffic stop turned into a major drug trafficking bust in Moulton on March 15, leading to the arrest of Hannah Brooks and Timothy Rose on multiple drug-related charges.
According to the Moulton Police Department, officers observed a blue GMC Sonoma driving erratically on AL Hwy 24. A license plate check revealed the tag belonged to a 2022 KIA, prompting a stop after the vehicle turned onto County Road 460.
The driver was identified as Hannah Brooks, and the passenger as Timothy Rose. During the stop, Rose allegedly ignored officer commands and was seen reaching near his leg area. Upon exiting the vehicle, Rose reportedly dropped a baggie that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Officers also found an open bottle of vodka in the driver’s side door. A subsequent vehicle search uncovered a trove of illegal substances:
Two baggies of crystalline substance inside a Crown Royal bag
A large bag of suspected methamphetamine in a suitcase
Compressed rock-like substances inside the defrost vent and front passenger seat, testing positive for fentanyl
Buprenorphine and Naloxone Hydrochloride pills, a Schedule III controlled substance
Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Lawrence County Jail with the following charges:
