JONESBORO, Ark. — A Wynne woman with a prior theft conviction has been arrested again after police say she shoplifted from a Walmart store in Jonesboro.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers were dispatched to the Walmart on Parker Road on Jan. 12 after store loss prevention reported a suspected shoplifting incident.
Store employees told police they saw the suspect concealing merchandise inside the store. Loss prevention staff stopped the woman and escorted her to the store’s office until officers arrived.
When officers checked the suspect’s information, they discovered she had previously been convicted of theft involving more than $1,000 within the past year. Police said she also told them she was currently on probation for that offense.
Authorities identified the suspect as Haley Jo Mullins, 30, of Wynne.
Mullins has been charged with theft of property valued at $1,000 or less, second offense, which is classified as a Class D felony.
Her bail was set at $1,500 cash or surety on Jan. 13, and she is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 28.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
