In a decisive action against illegal drug trafficking, Bargarh Town Police on Wednesday seized over 20 kilograms of ganja and arrested three individuals from Madhya Pradesh during an early morning operation.
The arrested accused have been identified as:
Hakam Singh Lodhi (38)
Lakhendra Singh (29)
Papu Singh (35)
All are residents of Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh.
According to police sources, a team led by Sub-Inspector Pratima Dungdung was patrolling near the Jeera river bridge around 5:30 AM when they intercepted the suspects. A raid was subsequently conducted in the presence of an executive magistrate, leading to the recovery of a plastic bag containing 20.2 kg of ganja.
Additionally, the police seized two mobile phones and Rs700 in cash from the accused. All three have been taken into custody and are being interrogated further to determine the source and destination of the contraband.
This operation is part of Bargarh police’s ongoing crackdown on inter-state drug trafficking networks, particularly those operating through Odisha and neighboring states.
