Habitual Thief and Ex-Cop Held in Kurnool Burglary Case

90g gold, cash stolen; 2 arrested including ex-constable

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh – Police on Monday arrested two men, including a suspended constable, in connection with a house burglary reported in Kalluru on February 19, where 90 grams of gold ornaments and Rs15,000 in cash were stolen.

Following a complaint from the victim, a special police team launched an investigation and tracked Jagadish, a resident of Gudivada, after he was spotted behaving suspiciously on the outskirts of Kurnool.

During interrogation, Jagadish admitted to the crime and also revealed that he was a habitual offender, linked to at least 25 theft cases across Andhra Pradesh.

Police also arrested Krupanandam, a suspended police constable, who allegedly assisted Jagadish in the burglary. The duo were apprehended at a hotel in the city.

Authorities recovered 40 grams of stolen gold ornaments and seized a motorcycle used in the crime. Both accused have been remanded to judicial custody as further investigations continue.
