In a series of successful operations, Guwahati Police cracked down on illegal activities across the city. A team from Odalbakra OP under Dispur police station raided a gathering at Beltoli Pahar and seized approximately 50 liters of country-made liquor.
Meanwhile, a separate operation by Bharalumukh PS led to the arrest of 48-year-old Jahanra Begam from Chayygaon, in connection with the theft of an old X-ray machine part from Swagat Hospital, Santipur. The stolen item was later recovered from her scrap yard in Bhotnath.
In another raid, a team from Basistha PS apprehended three drug peddlers—Rakibuddun Ali (25) from Hajo, Santosh Gogoi (21) from Khanapara, and Raju Deka (34) from Sarthebari. The police seized 45.71 grams of heroin, 44 empty vials, and a mobile phone from the suspects’ possession. Legal proceedings have been initiated in all these cases.
